Worlds RR [spoilers]
Pog, what can you say that hasn't already been said? This kid is another level from everyone else, a once in a generation talent. An insane effort but with the missed feed it seemed like that put him into a deficit he couldn't get out of...but powering through to the win anyway.
But I think an even bigger surprise is Ben O'Connor in second. Looking at him last year and the early part of this year I felt like he was good but not top tier. He's clearly moving himself up in everyone's view and overcoming the manufactured drama of Netflix
6.5hrs....crazy. I rode 4hrs at z1/2 today and was very ready to be done at the end. Can't even imagine the fitness these blokes have.

Pog said the move was stupid, but sometimes stupid things work. :)
Agree O’Connor rode well. I didn’t watch the Netflix thing but I believe he has a 4th in the TdF which isn’t bad.

O'conner matured into a real pro this season IMO. I predict good things for 2025 back on OZ team Jayco.
They say the rainbow jersey paints a year long target on you. In Pog's case it may just be moot VS mortal riders wearing it. Can't hit a target you can't get near...

The target was already there, but as you say if no one can hit it then what does it matter?
And about the curse of the rainbow jersey, that seems like pure psychology to me- it messes with some people's heads. Tadej seems shockingly level headed and I imagine there will be no curse in 25

UCI gravel world's coming up, no Pog, VDP favorite. Think I'll watch, on FloSport. May be an epic break!

Well, Pog's first race in the rainbow stripes (Giro dell'Emilia), he took off with almost 40 kilometres to go and won on his own by a couple of minutes, and I wouldn't bet against him in Giro di Lombardia next weekend either.
We spent ten days in Zurich watching the Worlds - started the holiday with a three week tour, heading south from Austria into Italy along the Claudia-Augusta bike route, then west around some of the north Italian lakes (Lakes Garda, Como, Maggiore), back over the Gotthard Pass into Switzerland, and finished with Zurich to watch the UCI championships. My wife wrote the whole trip up on CrazyGuy - this page has some of the photos I took while watching the mens race:
