txt & cell data while in Scotland.

What is reasonable amount of data to expect to use? I'm thinking web stuff, or mapping to find stuff, we thought we had idea and wuz wrong. ;(

When we travel overseas, we always have a laptop with us and use that to download maps, plan routes and such, and of course, send emails. We don't rely on our phones much. If need be, we download maps and routes to our bike computers and/or phones.
