Charge your electronic devices
We have heavy rain and wind coming, likely power outages, and making sure to charge my electronic devices now includes my car! Happy Holidays all.

FYI, I calculated 300 miles 9.617 gal gas used as we stopped early for dog break, and to pay OR prices instead of CA. That technically includes the 50% battery we left from the dealer to go home. Ran out EV on the 25 mile trip home, and we charged it to full overnight before heading out to CA.
My fuzzy math say 31 mpg counting gas for 300 miles with what ever cost for the 1.5 EV charges assisting.
Over night elec cost for us at home under 4 cents kWh.
Bike ride from Redding over the Sundial Bridge to Keswick [correction] Dam along river and back and a 5-6 mile exploratory Redding side of the sundial bridge. 50 something degrees.

Some more reading, as I assumed the 6kWh cap for EV mode is only part of the capacity.
"The Pacifica uses a 16-kilowatt-hour battery pack, but Kevin Mets, Pacifica Hybrid chief engineer, told us that it never fully depletes and you'll only be able to charge about 12 kwh"

Empty EV capacity start in the battery [gas only] return trip 28.5 MPG. For a 5050 lb sled [empty] that impresses me. It should be noted also PDX to Redding include several medium MTN passes to get up and over.
One descent off a pass on the return trip battery went from 0 EV capacity to 14% via regenerative with the cruise on no braking.
Great road, great bike car, quite comfy too. Wife liked the heater seat, I liked the heat steer wheel better.
Dog was obviously way more comfortable in the lead sled than the CRV.

Store run this am. Get to store and park, turn off and the dash shows the trip stats. 4 miles, 0 engine 4 EV.
Same on return trip home.
The Engine did fire on one hill on the way back for probably 5 seconds. Still said 0 miles. ;0
But it used gas for 5 seconds and about 500 feet. ;)
It also ran the engine for the remote start of 10 minutes before departing.
