Skiing

I have three trips west planned for this winter, pandemic be damned.

Steamboat February 4-9 (6 days on the snow).

Utah (Alta, Solitude, Brighton, Powder Mtn., etc.) February 24 to March 2.

Steamboat April 3-8

Anyone up for a meetup on the hill during any one of these?

Kerry, Wish I could join you. It's been a few years (Jan 2007?) since I met up with you at Alta for 1/2 day when Parkin chickened out with some minor injury;-).

My plans are extremely uncertain at the moment as I've just had two different trips with a local ski club get cancelled due to state travel restrictions.

Since I retired fully in August, I'm giving some thought to a seasonal condo rental and becoming a ski bum at some more remote area. I've got the time and it might be a lower-risk way to satisfy ski bum cravings before my knees get a lot worse. Maybe I'll meet you in UT yet???

Tweak

I'll speak for Parkin in case he's not keeping up. He was following me in some 6 inch fresh stuff at Park City and managed to pull his calf. He toughed out the rest of the morning but by the time we stopped for lunch, his calf was swelling like a cantaloupe and he had to limp down the mountain and call it a day. Fun while it lasted.

Kerry - That was a fun run in freshies . . . until it wasn't . . . fun, I mean! LOL!

A few years ago, I went back and did that run again. Then went over to Snowbird and did the run where I had torn my other gastroc on yet another trip.

Wish I could join you this year, but I think I'm going to stay off of airplanes until I get my vaccine.

Vaxing

I don't know when I'll get a vaccine - at my age I'm in the high risk group - but the pull of skiing is irresistible to me. I bought some N95 masks to wear on the plane.
