I saw where some races in Italy have been cancelled including Milan-San Remo. A lot of the spring classics are up in the air.

Will the riders still get their salary if they are not racing? I know they also depend on winning/placing money and bonuses along the road. I think most have a minimal salary.

Hammer is starting to fall. Ineos suspends racing program, stated until 3/24.

A user on PL where I read this suggested other teams will follow due to fear of a possible situation in which the entire team gets quarantined or worse the entire road organization..

It'll be interesting to see how this shapes up over the next few months. Although I'll miss seeing some of the cancelled races, my biggest concern is that it's going to screw up our vacation plans.

One of the Dr.s we know does the TDF vacation trips.

Best one gets the travel insurance for the foreseeable future on your bookings.

We have a May HS reunion in Joisey. I 1/2 doubt it will happen.

We've organized ourselves one of our biennial cycling tours based around watching the world road championships, which are at Martigny in Switzerland at the end of September. We'd planned to ride through Austria, northern Italy, and Switzerland. All the bookings were made before this thing kicked off. I guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens.

They could turn it into a 4000km time trial, so that the riders can properly socially distance during competition...
