TDF [no spoiler]
Phil/Bobke? I like it...
Bobke gaff: mixed Hats Off and Asset = Ass Off
LOL
>>So opinions of the Liggett/Roll dynamic???
Cofidis Kuota group?? RD pulleys are huge!
Some googling: Campagnolo Super Record EPS with CeramicSpeed OSPW system??
Not just campy apparently.

OK, I gotta ask. 2019 TTT 4 rider across line ?? Not seen UCI rule change about this?
Did on the other hand see a few other UCI rule changes for 2019. The most interesting of which pertains to woman's World tour team riders. Maternity and minimum wage rules, about time...
Now that a lot of them won't have to be barista'a while training, there are likely to get faster even yet. ;)

They probably changed the rule last year when they reduced the team size from 9 to 8.

I don't know and really didn't think about it at the time.

Good stage 5 today, but stage 6 tomorrow will be a killer. 157 km packed with 5 climbs with an uphill finish including some 20% sections at the end.

Which NBC Sports option are you watching?
For those of you watching through NBC Sports Gold, which coverage option are you watching?
At first, I didn't realize that there were two options and had been watching the "ad-free" coverage with Matthew Keenan and Robbie McEwen. Today, I started watching Phil & Bob and while I like the job that the NBC Sports team does, the constant commercials were really irritating and I switched back.
What say all of you?
EDIT: I switched back to NBC Sports once they got to the no-commercial point.

Prefer the AD-free feed too
I'm with you, too much fluff and commercials on the NBC coverage.
The AD-free has been my choice for 3 years.

And it looks to me like the leaders weren't even close to using their biggest cog! What animals.

I think today the peloton will be taking it easy and let a break get away.
So they might have a defecto "rest day"

They seem to be doing fine, based on what I've seen. Was there something I missed?
Stage 8 yesterday was a somewhat boring stage with an awesome outcome. Couldn't have been better!
Stage 9 today was somewhat of a snoozefest ending with an exciting finish that saved the day.

Yeah, it's too bad, but crashes happen. He seems like a really great guy and you gotta' root for him, but frankly, I think he should give up on Grand Tours and concentrate on races that he could actually win, unless he's willing to be a GT domestique. He hit the peak of his GT prowess years ago and hasn't been the same since. It happens to a lot of riders, like Fabio Aru for example. Sometimes they just have a short window where they're at their peak and once it's passed, they're done and it's time to change focus.

Tejay
I have not followed his career at all, but when I did the Dempsey Challenge 2 day with Jens a few years ago, at a dinner presentation someone asked him about Tejay’s tour prospects. Jens immediately said Tejay was very good, but couldn’t get through a Tour without a bad day or two. Of course, that puts him in very good company, and it was obvious Jens liked and respected Tejay. Ask Jens a question, you get an answer....

Unfortunately, the issue with TJ van Garderen and Richie Porte seems to be that the question is not if they're going to crash, but when.

Froome managed to get through several Grand Tours without major incidents.

"Froome managed to get through several Grand Tours without major incidents."
As one of the most protected riders with huge budget for protection, no?
