Isle of Man TT
For those of you with an interest in motorized cycles the TT is covered nightly on the Motor Trend Network. Coverage is aired at 11pm ET and repeated at 3am. IMHO this is one of the most incredible racing events. Enjoy!

Thanks for posting this. I didn't even know I got that channel in my dish package, but yes I do. i set the DVR to record it. I've seen it in the past and really like the TT.

The sidecar racing was wild and crazy. They said an engine was done after 3 laps/1 race of the course.

A friend's brother, who motor races as a privateer, showed me a differential that he said had only done a ten lap race around Mt Panorama in Bathurst. The differential had got hot enough to blacken the orange paint on it.
I've never driven around Mt Panorama, but I've ridden in bike races around it. It's pretty unusual for a race circuit in being a normal public road for most of the year, and it's a pretty hard circuit to race on with almost 200m of climbing/descending on each 6km lap. You seriously don't want to come off on the descent off the top of the mountain, as the road has concrete walls pretty close on both sides.
Here's an onboard camera on an Audi R8 doing the 6km lap in under two minutes:

Documentary
There is a cool documentary series out there called the religion of sports, and one of the episodes is about the Isle of Man TT.
Worth checking out.

Watch the movie "World's Fastest Indian" and you'll see all kinds of parts "sacrificed to the God of Speed."
