Anyone here in this neck of the woods?
At least 39 homes exploded or burned in Lawrence, Andover, and North Andover, Massachusetts.

Apparently recent work on the system boosted the pressure a little too much, Oops!!!!
Holy crap.
I had something similar happen in TN, But with water pressure, a bit less of a hazzard. When they came down our street putting in all new meters, it turned out they misjudged by allowing over 100 PSI.
Many of our neighbors had blow outs and floods in the houses. I happen to be home when the initial Elbow from the run into the basement from the meter blew off. I ran outside to the water meter so fast, in about 45 seconds I had the supply shut down.
You can't even imaging how much water comes out of a 3/4" main feed @ 100+ PSI into your house in approx 45 seconds. Luckily I was only just finishing the basement and broomed the water out the back door, mostly. I was the only one the elbow blew off before the shut off in the house, yet still got the water off way faster. One or two weren't home...
But blowing gas lines Eesh....
