Trump / Putin Press Conference Reactions

John Brennan's (former CIA head) tweet echos my thoughts:

"Donald Trump’s press conference performance in Helsinki rises to & exceeds the threshold of “high crimes & misdemeanors.” It was nothing short of treasonous. Not only were Trump’s comments imbecilic, he is wholly in the pocket of Putin. Republican Patriots: Where are you???"

Couldn't help but think if Obama had tried this BS he'd have been impeached before Air Force One had gotten back to D.C.

DT: “President Putin said it’s not Russia. I don’t see any reason why it should be … I will tell you, President Putin was extremely strong and powerful in his denial.”

Oh, OK then. You have it all under control there supreme leader. Are you Fucking kidding me?

Anyone want some corn flakes inundated with my puke. Did he suck his cock in the closed door meeting, would not surprise even me a little.

Zero?

Asked the Germans who supported the Nazis how many of them admitted “*I* made a mistake”. They all made excuses such as Hitler being very convincing etc. Some even blamed the allies for demanding too harsh a retribution after WWI. Laughable had it not been so tragic!

45’s supporters have been blaming the Dem’s for not putting forward a “better candidate" than Hillary! Hilarious!!! :D :D

But NEVER, EVER “*I* made a mistake”

for discussion/debate: i submit IQ45s statements are...

...indefensible and traitorous, grounds for impeachment.

IQ45 continually denies irrefutable IC evidence and conclusions of direct russian interference in the 2016 election and continually puts russia ahead of the US. these arent flip comments, they have been firm positions and supporting statements made repeatedly and documented since his ascent to the WH.

anyone have a rational basis to defend IQ45 on this matter?

I'm sure that the Communist party oh is it also called Republican Party? has a rational explanation.
After all we all know that only the communist are the true patriots.
But don't worry we will protect our freedom to shoot up schools.

Having a POTUS who is afraid his Russian investments will be seized if he does not play ball with the leader being our president is a non starter.

April is spot on. But not admitting to it out loud, and admitting to it in the voting booth is a distinction. I hope/pray.

As should be expected:

Donald Trump said Tuesday that when he asserted at a Monday press conference with Vladimir Putin that he saw no reason why Russia would have stolen and leaked Democrats’ emails during the 2016 election cycle, what he had actually meant to say was the opposite of that.

Oh, that is what I thought. You are OK after all. NOT!

Also noteworthy from Tuesday’s event: After reading the phrase “I accept our intelligence community’s conclusion that Russia’s meddling in the 2016 election took place” from prepared remarks, Trump added that “It could be other people, also. There are lots of people out there.”

Gotta watch those Russian assets.

Trump is a bonehead at times but at least he is doing something and my TSP/401 likes him.

He is not a nazi either.

I am glad I no longer watch and cable news because it has divided the country like nothing since the civil war.

tsk. tsk. tsk.

IQ45 a bonehead? thats incredibly weak. IQ45 has personally and directly divided the country and our closest allies. to hear such equivocating and apologist words from you is shocking.

that your portfolio is doing well enough, a president rolling over for the enemy that you personally fought to defeat for most of your military career is acceptable POTUS behavior to you?

"TSP/401 likes him."

Mine two, until the hammer falls. And it will rest assured. Just like when the last GOP administration got done manipulating, err... governing? ;)

"He is not a nazi either."

Not as far as death camps of course. I think the most analogous aspect is the mechanism getting too much traction before being abated more than he is Hitler per say. But fair analogy as far as following/follower as far as I see it. At least if one follows the sentiment on the topic here for the most part.

Unless you are trying to come into the county over the southern border and you 'and your family' can be held in perpetuity, now that ICE is not separating families etc.

Erik, please don't allow us that are on the opposite side of this fence chase you off. I can say I respect your position and right to it. And it is clear I'd say I can't see you politically over the fence at this point. Where I once could.

Best

There we disagree

Obama, ANTIFA, BLM, The Clintons divided this country not Trump. In fact Obama did more to divide the country than any president since the civil war.

The right was not acting like fools when Obama was in office, no huge disruptive protest that tore up our cities, no blocking of highways etc.

The far left is acting like a bunch of fools, vote, it works. Don't destroy our country to show discontent.

I am actually a very moderate voter and had we had a viable Libertarian candidate I would have voted that way. As it was, I had to vote against Hillary, she is a criminal who should be charged for her crimes. Had I done what she and her staff did I would be in jail right now. The DNC platform is nuts also.

I'm out...

"In fact Obama did more to divide the country than any president since the civil war"

Funny that the civil war is analogous. I saw a ton of good old boy resenting a black president based on deep seated culture. And house and senate backing Mitch McConell's lead [and I know I don't have to insert quotes] as what was the impetus for the separation/divisions. He laid it out quit clearly obvious enough. I think a Black person in a position so superior to a lot folks was more than was bearable. As far as I am concerned, MM should be held on treason, as much as I understand things.

I will say at this point since the early 60s hearing my KY/TN relatives telling stories and speaking plainly to N____ [I won't type that word] being sub human. That culture will take centuries to abate I estimate.

I do not say this as a disparagement, only as long observations on lots of time in KY/TN which have brought me to conclusions to make the above statements.

"I had to vote against Hillary, she is a criminal who should be charged for her crimes."

Trump isn't. Funny how each party forgives the transgressions of who they thing should get voted in I guess. It is when the lawmakers decide on doing things unconstitutional that I think we are past deep shit. And I see more and more of it as I get older, or just notice it more. Are we there now, or were we already there and I just didn't pay attention, not care or not notice??

I don't think DT VS HC is worth discussion frankly. Birds of a feather as far as I am concerned. But at least one of them's platform has been in the same party for.. for... forever.

"I'm out..."

Which kinda tells me the hit and run is just a method of trying to deal with it. When we the voters won't listen to each other, we give the powers that be the free hand. This IMO is the true danger to which we have arrived.

"we had a viable Libertarian candidate"

And if one gets in, would get the royal sandbagging treatment just like OB did. And just to show my train of thought isn't only partisan, Herbert Walker got sandbagged too. By a salamander from the pleurodelinae family, and from his own party too. The good old days... ;)

Obama divided this country like no one since the civil war....

Lets call it like it is, because the good ol white boys couldn't stand having a black president, if we are going to talk real here, that lets talk about the real reason.

How you are going to make apologies for someone that is giving the country away to the Russians is beyond any sense of reason, just following the cult of trump.

IQ45 is president -- "he alone can fix it"

why does IQ45 and his supporters invoke BO and HC in every 3rd sentence to this day?

Not the first time I have been on the same page as McCain:

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator John McCain (R-AZ), Chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee, released the following statement today on President Trump’s meeting and press conference with Vladimir Putin in Helsinki:

“Today’s press conference in Helsinki was one of the most disgraceful performances by an American president in memory. The damage inflicted by President Trump’s naiveté, egotism, false equivalence, and sympathy for autocrats is difficult to calculate. But it is clear that the summit in Helsinki was a tragic mistake.

“President Trump proved not only unable, but unwilling to stand up to Putin. He and Putin seemed to be speaking from the same script as the president made a conscious choice to defend a tyrant against the fair questions of a free press, and to grant Putin an uncontested platform to spew propaganda and lies to the world.

“It is tempting to describe the press conference as a pathetic rout – as an illustration of the perils of under-preparation and inexperience. But these were not the errant tweets of a novice politician. These were the deliberate choices of a president who seems determined to realize his delusions of a warm relationship with Putin’s regime without any regard for the true nature of his rule, his violent disregard for the sovereignty of his neighbors, his complicity in the slaughter of the Syrian people, his violation of international treaties, and his assault on democratic institutions throughout the world.

“Coming close on the heels of President Trump’s bombastic and erratic conduct towards our closest friends and allies in Brussels and Britain, today’s press conference marks a recent low point in the history of the American Presidency. That the president was attended in Helsinki by a team of competent and patriotic advisors makes his blunders and capitulations all the more painful and inexplicable.

“No prior president has ever abased himself more abjectly before a tyrant. Not only did President Trump fail to speak the truth about an adversary; but speaking for America to the world, our president failed to defend all that makes us who we are—a republic of free people dedicated to the cause of liberty at home and abroad. American presidents must be the champions of that cause if it is to succeed. Americans are waiting and hoping for President Trump to embrace that sacred responsibility. One can only hope they are not waiting totally in vain.”

To illustrate it would have been worse with HC, and that is was with OB. Again, folks see though their eyes what that think they have to believe is all I can come up with.

"I am glad I no longer watch and cable news because it has divided the country like nothing since the civil war."

Hmmm... which is it? Obama or cable news?

"The right was not acting like fools when Obama was in office, no huge disruptive protest that tore up our cities, no blocking of highways etc. "

Instead, "the right" just run over the protesters with his car. Some "good people" in that crowd.

But more seriously........................................................................................

"Obama divided this country like no one since the civil war...."

More than Martin Luther King did, you mean? ;)

But as we are on the subject, the civil war indeed divided the country tragecally. Looking back, perhaps the north had no right to invade the south to free them blacks. That would have kept the country "undivided", right? And the white slave owners would have eventually let their black slaves free anyway, without the war and lose of life? Is that what you're thinking?

So it's not the cable news that divide the country. It's Obama! Is it what he DID? Or was it who he IS? That truly divide the country? Or more accurately, his skin color???

Make no mistake, Hillary would have divided the country even more than Obama. Imagine all the women who would have been energized had she been the president. They make up 50% of the population. Not just 12% as blacks are.

In a way, I'm glad Hillary lost. You can't blame Hillary for the new awakening of women in politics like you blame Obama for the "division" of "Black life matters" movement! Heck, the #MeToo movement can't be blamed on Hillary. Or perhaps you don't think the #MeToo movement is dividing the country, so it's no big deal either way?

No doubt Obama was awful, I mean health care? who in their right mind would want the US to have health care, lets let all the poor people die.
I could go on......
After all keeping ones Citizens healthy is what the crazy socialist in Canada, France, Australia and the UK do, I don't see Putin giving out health care, and he sure knows how to run a country.
Plus Obama was black..... did I mention the color of his skin?
Oh and lets not forget he was born in Kenya, I mean after all King Trump said so.

Didn't we fight.a war 200+ years ago to get rid of a monarch, and now we all march like sheep after king trump.
