Froome banned from Tour

Sky has appealed.

Just thought I'd try a cycling thread for a change.

Unbanned

Thanks for the much welcomed cycling post
I wish that were true, then the Tour would actually be worth watching.

However much to the surprise of no one, Froome is cleared even though Petacchi and Uiisi received bannes for having lower amounts of the drug in their systems

WTF

This morning there were reports that the organizers were banning Froome from the Tour because of the drug investigation. Then apparently he was cleared. I just know what I read.

You are right Dan, they did try to ban him, but once the UCI dropped the charges ASO had nothing to ban him for.

There are already a couple of articles quoting people working in the anti-doping field who don't like the way WADA seems to have rolled over:

Yup, it's complete BS. Once ASO banned him, it forced the UCI to make a decision and they took the cowardly way out. Apparently they figured that another high-profile doping ban and a lawsuit from Froome's lawyers was too much to take, so they let Froome skate with no explanation. F-ing hypocrits!

I guess Sky's definition of "marginal gains" is "whatever morally reprehensible and legally suspect behavior we can get away with".
