My ship is about to come in
OK this is funny. I received a notice today of a proposed settlement in the "NCAA Student-Athlete Concussion Injury Litigation."
First, they must have beat the freakin' bushes to come up with my name.
Second, this may explain a lot....

It does sound funny. But something of that nature came in my mailbox a while back (had to do with unauthorized spamming). And I figured nothing would come of it. I've been party of similar class action suits before. And if you had been, you know what I mean...
Last week, I got a check in the mail. Not a few pennies or a few dollars... a sum that one can actually do something with.

who qualifies?
all former athletes? or some subset?
all sports? or just contact sports?
do you need to have a documented head-injury or just participate?

Who knows?
I just got a postcard, presumably because I played basketball. I can do several things to follow up, none of which I plan on.

I'm out of luck...
...but my sister played goalie for the UNH women's hockey team for four years, so maybe she's in for a payday. There's a lot of speculation that you have to be brain-damaged to play goalie. ;-)
