FWIW, my 6 series has 28s now and I don't lower the pressure for additional cushy and liking it. As you said, the susp effect negates any added harshness the extra pressure have over lower ones.
My 6 does not have the front ISO De-coupler, but has the ISO ride tuned carbon steer tube and I added a Tranz-X anti-shock stem. With the fairly flexy Control Tech TUX bars got it into Cadillac cushy pretty much. ;) [I'm exaggerating of course]
Been going back and forth between Sector 28 tubeless and previous wheels with latex tubed Pro 4 Service Course 25mm, both same size inflated. I got the WH-6800 Tubeless for x-mas, thus some A/B-ing.
One take away being 25mm Pro 4 SC are 28s more than 25mm pretty much.
