Falcon Heavy Static Test at the Pad
"January 30" launch date, but no definite date announced.
The vehicle has a flexible maximum lift capability. Being used like a conventional expendable vehicle it can place 2.5x as much payload in orbit as anything else today. OTOH, we've all seen the boosters land and be re-used. In that case the Heavy can put 4 metric tons in geostationary orbit 23,000 miles away for 25% less than anyone else. Considering all the competition is subsidized they seem to be doing something noteworthy.
