New use for old chainrings
The chainrings I use have got smaller over the years, and I decided I was never going to use this TA inner chainring that I've had for decades. I gave it, along with a whole lot of used cassettes and other chainrings, to a friend who makes sculptures, lampshades etc from them. He came around yesterday and gave us this clock made from the TA chainring. The wood is elm, cut with a fretsaw to match the chainring. A six arm ring works much better as a clock than a five arm:
