"tremendous powers of denial"
Well said.
Smart guy to had seen that. Brave man to be able to say it out loud.
He won't be popular among those who wishes to continue their denial.

Steve B.: The reason you agree with his statement is because it is an exposition of historical facts, not an opinion.
On Flake: He surrounded his "egregious and sustained attacks on Obama's legitimacy were leveled by marginal figures" with enough mentions of DJT to remind everyone of the seemingly prescient Birther-In-Chief.
Recently I heard a similar appeal from Ben Sasse, first term Senator from Nebraska. It was also refreshing.
As for the observation that (McConnell) "stated that our number-one priority was not advancing a conservative policy agenda but making Obama a one-term president." I ask a third and final time: How does the election of McConnell and Paul benefit the people of Kentucky?
So far the silent response eloquently states
"no benefit."

Daddy, WE know these are historical facts, but many conservatives don't, or won't come to grips with them. Thus for Flake to acknowledge these facts is refreshing.
To me its stating the obvious but I agree with some of the concepts that the liberals/Democrats are somewhat to blame for the current mess, as they too are just playing politics, putting the party first and not the country.

"Problem Solvers"?
I heard something on the radio yesterday about a bi-partisan "Problem Solvers" caucus in the House. It's a group of 40 reps who are actually interested in governing and getting something done. They're working on bills to make positive changes to the healthcare system, things that
people
actually want. It will be interesting to see if they get anywhere.
As for Kentucky, it's the "Bible Belt"; suspend common sense at the door.

Deputy WH Spokesperson Sarah Huckabee Saunders:
"You want to see chaos come to my house with three pre-schoolers."
---
She literally compared this WH to a houseful of preschoolers.
Couple that with yesterday's DJTweet that ended "no WH chaos" which is an admission there has been chaos... Have they no sense of irony?

I think you're misinterpreting
My take is that in both cases, they were trying to downplay or deny the obvious chaos in the White House, not confirm it. They're not fooling anyone, but that's what you do in Trump's alternate reality.
I have serious questions about Kelly's ability to impose order on the situation. He may be able to do so with the staff, but Trump is a loose cannon that goes off on tirades at all times of day and night. He's insanely emotional, especially when he feels slighted or ignored, and has no self-control. Unless Kelly can stop Trump from using Twitter, it seems that he has little chance of success and is in for a lot of frustration.

Haven't you heard, those are "fake facts" put out by the liberal "fake news" organization!
And by the way, those same liberal source also put out other fake facts such as we're not made by god but just smart monkeys.

In her comparison the WH compared favorably to preschoolers.
;-)
Yeah, in my book the creationists really sell God short.

Bizarre!
Besides, there is no need for a "counter state" to sabotage Trump, he's doing it all by himself.

I frankly am more surprised he was weeded out than existed in the first place. I somehow see DT striking this one out in the lost column.

Foot soldier in the movement to save us from Cultural Marxism. Pawn of the effort to shrink government. </hardy har har>
Praise to the writer and editor for including the Cultural Marxism primer. It is such a convoluted concept that the ridiculousness of basing a movement on it is only outstripped by a movement determined to make a preemptive death-blow against it.
scary that the WH seems to be infested with people like this
Let's hope 'sunshine' like this article, and the action of NSC's McMaster, will cause the infestation to reexamine its premise. Give Bannon his props for getting this far, but it is
his
movement that is the one which smells of Cultural Marxism.

His words, on Obama:
"Finally, his education at some of the best colleges in America was deeply influenced by socialists or worse on those campuses."
So the "best colleges in America" lean left. And frankly, the worst colleges in America lean right.

Speaking of which
This guy also said of Obama:
"He supposedly earned degrees in political science and law, but his actions reflect a shallow education and chronic underachievement in nearly every thing he has done."
Obama was President of Harvard Law Review, one of the most elite of legal credentials.

Best selling author.
Nobel Peace Prize (yeah - sketchy one).
12 years as professor of law at University of Chicago.
I think even my Type A Asian parents would have thought he was doing pretty well, despite not being a doctor or an engineer.

You have an "interesting" president. Reading everything from a distance is somewhat entertaining.

True enough...
...it has definitely not been boring. However, I imagine that most Americans would be happy if we had somewhat less "entertainment" coming from the White House for a while. ;-)
Even a couple of days without a new controversy or any stupid tweets would be nice. Is that too much to ask???

It's entertaining from even within.
Especially now the Senate had finally balls up to stop the clown in the Whitehouse from doing anything too stupid. Many of us feel a lot more relaxed enjoying the comedy.
(I've said that from the day Trump won the election that he couldn't do too much harm because the Congress/Senate are there to rein him in. Had he been more together and tried to be more "presidential", he might have been able to put in quite a lot of policy that *I* dislike. But thanks to his childish tweets, he put the Senate on guard in super-short order without being able to do much at all)

After his latest lot of tweets, maybe he can ape Slim Pickens in Dr Strangelove, whooping away with his stetson astride a nuclear weapon as it drop towards Kim Jong-un.
