Awesome Aussie (tennis)

The Australian Open this year has to be one of the most extraordinary athletic events ever. The Williams sisters in the final of a Major at 36 and 35 (Venus having Sjogren's Disease), then Federer (at 35) defeating Nadal in an epic 5 set final. You gotta be kidding me....

4 absolutely iconic athletes slugging away deep into their careers. Probably Serena is the only one anyone would have picked for a final. As Serena said "30 is the new 10."

Doubles for me

With its power, the tennis singles game at that level is so far above me, that while I can admire the athletes, I really can't relate. Doubles, on the other hand, while still featuring power and speed beyond my meager capabilities, has frequent quick duels at the net that are at least familiar to good pickleball players.

Watching the AO doubles final was amazing. The agility and reaction time of those athletes is hard to believe.
