New scam to replace IRS robocalls?

Sorry Campyman, everyone, we had a pretty good stretch of solid cycling content.

I got a voicemail from a robocall telling me "all my Microsoft licenses have expired."

I'm not worried. But it is irritating.

Send M$ an eMail telling them you guess you will go shopping before just renewing them all. ;)

no prob

Just return the call, you probably won't have to speak to anyone. Just follow the prompts and punch in your ssn, DOB and credit card info, and they'll take care of everything!

I get crap like this all the time, usually email at work that wants me to open an attachment for an unpaid invoice or whatever. I get fewer voicemails since I ditched my landline.

Thanks Dan, I took your advice and called back a couple of more times to give them my investment and whole life policy details just to make sure. You can't be too careful. Finally, peace of mind.

Heh, unpaid invoice: you gotta pay for the macro they included right?

No bill

I don't get asked to renew my licenses, but they do helpfully tell me that they (Microsoft) have found something wrong with my computer and need to start a remote session to fix things. I've been too busy to take advantage of this generous offer but will take them up on it when I get the time. Like never.

I've gotten the same call telling me my Windows Computer has problems and they need to log into it to fix them, no charge of course.

Interesting, since we have an iMAC, iPhones and an iPad and no Windows based devices at all. I wonder if they called the wrong number? :)

I got the same calls for fixing my windows. Except it's not a Robo call it's someone with an Indian accent.

I asked where in India is he calling from. He hung up on me right away.

I guess my windows problem is not that serious after all.
