Yep!

2 posts back.

BMW 328xi.

It's a bit of a let down. It doesn't drive as well as the one it replaces. And the build-in navigation takes getting used to. Today I got lost! Even though REI had opened a store in Yonkers 2 years ago, the in-car GPS doesn't seem to know it's there! Sent me to downtown Yonkers instead!!! Had to resort to using my phone to find my way to it.

It's been 3 weeks now, I still haven't quite figure out how to program the radio to remember my favorite stations yet! From time to time, I almost wish I still have my old 328!

But, the old 328 has a couple of big maintenance due and I don't feel like dropping 5 grand on a 8 year old car, not knowing if any other big ticket repair might be due. The worst part is, I don't want another set of crack rims in the middle of the winter AGAIN! The new car, it no longer give me a sharp jolt up my tail bone and spine when it hits a crack on the pavement like the old one)

I think BMW just lost it with the new 3 series! But I bought it anyway because it's the least expensive for the same feature set.

(whatever the "data" said about in car GPS helping with the resale value, it's probably the same illusion as in the new car market. If you want certain feature set, you're stuck paying for the GPS because that's how they come. In practice, what kind of loser would pay a penny more for a 3+ year outdated GPS in a used car? Really? )
