Cervelo R3 cranks/bb?

Hey guys...been a long time.

Was curious if anyone has any experience installing a crankset/bottom bracket on the Cervelo R3 frameset? From my limited research, it seems Cervelo has engineered an offset bottom bracket design for strength purposes and I am not sure if this is going to make for some sort of modification when installing a crankset/bottom bracket? I am leaning towards Shimano Dura Ace or Ultegra if that matters.

Thanks in advance.

What type of BB?

If it is the BBright mess, take it to the shop.
If it is the older and IMO much better traditional threaded design, have at if you have the tools.

I suspect it is BBright because you mentioned the offset design. Ugh.

I have a friend with a R5CA that he loves, or loved until it started creaking. He ended up ordering a new fangled BB that does away with the press fit design. It cost him $300, so I hope you can use the standard 68mm English one like my S2. I would much rather pay the $50 and do it myself thanks to a fellow forum member who hooked me up with the park tool.

Steve, I have a used BBright crankset laying around that got bought by accident. Cheap enough to not bother sending back...

So if you need one for that frame I can dig it out and see what length and BC etc.

Thanks Sparky

I got it figured out...this new age technology is a trip..lol

I am still riding a 15 yr old bike with 9-speed, as I am building this up for my wife.

PS> Went with Rotor Cranks. ;-)
