LOL. I'm a serious fan of lots of much newer/younger artists, but the Dead during their prime runs (too young for '73 but Spring 90 and most of 93...)was irreplaceable magic. Much like Bruce from 76-80, another thing that its hard to get unless you were in the building. Yeah.

Haven't seen much lately that blew me away in the same fashion, although JJ Grey puts on a hell of a show.

Sure you know the story written by Hunter as Phil's Dad was dying of cancer at the time I believe...wonderful tune....

ISTRC that Phil told Hunter he wanted a song to sing to his dad, and so these were Hunter's resulting lyrics. A wonderful song in all respects.
