I train and race with the G3. Good stable platform however I suspect in the next few years the price of power measurement will be dropping and options for power measurement will increase, hub, crank, pedal bb, based systems. Power measurement will be as ubiquitous as hrm's

I saw a post that Performance has them for 799 with a Joule. and I think he said also a 20% he got off as well.
Ron, you have the Garmen 800 IIRC, so the Joule could be sold.
Unclear on the 20% off, but that puts the package with the joule a 640.00 and free shipping probably...
What happened to the PT wheels on your CX, or should I ask?
If these had wider rims for 640.00 I might bite. ;)
EDIT: EDIT: I see when I went back to the home page the 15% additional @ performance FWIW.
So 680.00 @ performance....

CX wheels are still there. I have a shitty pair of Ksyriums on the roadie and I hate them. I'll sell them for $20 on facebook.
This purchase is also being used as a reason/incentive for me to actually get back on the bike.

If that is 10 speed and not 11 it should say so on that page someplace. You should not have to ask that IMO!

Since I have enjoyed looking at power numbers (or perhaps lack of power numbers) with my Computrainer, I've thought about getting a power meter for a road bike. But my current thinking is, nah, I really don't do structured riding on the road and outside there's better stuff to look at.

It's really hard for me to get into the view when I ride. My brain is only concerned about performance, good or bad. Always been that way. I suppose it's why I was a halfway decent racer those many long years ago.

A trend I have been trying to bust these last few years myself.
I have to force myself to look up and around due to deep concentration of the psychology while on the pipe.

Dan, for someone who does the occasional tt, a powermeter is a great pacing tool.
If 4iii ever actually ships their $300 user installable crank pm, the pricing dynamic will change.

Well yeah
But I just do a couple Merckx tts per year which are pretty low key. And I'm pretty comfortable pacing myself - like water I find my own level. When I did the last ftp test, I set a target level based on the numbers I'd seen, but when I started riding I felt comfortable 10-15 watts higher so I stayed there and was able to hold it.
That said, if I had serious speed or competitive goals I'd get one. But I just want to ride 12 hours and live through it...:)
Just finished 5x8 minutes @105% ftp - now a day off and then another ftp test, yahoo.

Got the wheel. They seemed pretty awesome except the damned endcap is too big for the dropouts on my Strong. Have a PT wheel on my CX that goes back and forth just fine. Can swap other wheels as well but the new wheel just won't fit in there. Saris is sending new endcaps. Will see if that fixes it. If not Carl said I can file a little bit from the dropout.

Drop out looks bent/tweaked to me...
Did you show Carl that pic??
Any powder coat letting go? If not I would not be surprised that it will happen if you un-tweak it cold.
I think I would file the lower/end inner part/tip of the dropout before trying to cold set it to open it up. Looks like a mm or 2 ought to do it...

Shifts perfectly with other wheels, bike is always stored with a wheel in, so I don't think the DO is tweaked. Yeah, Carl saw the pic. He didn't mention anything looked off about the DO. Yeah, hoping 1-2mm will do it, not taking any more off. And will wait for new endcaps first, of course.

Bent?
From the picture it looks like the open end of the dropout is narrower than where the axle would sit. My new Lynskey got bent in shipment and I had to tweak the drive side dropout to fit the axle in there. It can happen.
