Imagine the size of the accident you could have on that!

Can't tell if it has pedals on it or not, wonder if he had to walk it back...?

RBR = RoadBikeRider.com

It's a website, not a Usenet group.

Yes, it has pedals, and nothing but rim brakes and air resistance to slow it down(!).

Always a good spectacle when design limits are taken to the extreme!
The U-Tube links that pop up after the video ends show dragsters and such.

Son of beastie

Walter, he hasn't given up yet. But he isn't an expert on aerodynamics nor on mechanics (the linear drive is not efficient compared to a crank).

Rubber meltdown & blowout

What tires did he use? Excuse the pun, but I'd be a bit skittish knowing that bicycle tire manufacturers do not design their products to be used at such speed.

Excellent point on the tires to be sure. ;)

"The tires, however, are made for speed. They were tested by Michelin to 300 km/h for one hour with 100 kg load on each tire."

I wonder how many tire were used/spent overall.
