TDF Cobble Stage
I am now thinking maybe this was not the best of idea. Given the days, as in 'number of', to follow.
Not saying I did not enjoy, but it is not my ass either. And I feel a little guilty for enjoying it so much.

If you're talking about Froome, all indications are that he was done before the stage (wrist brace) and even reaching the cobbles. It was going to be a wet day even without the cobbles and Froome just couldn't keep himself upright.
The stage was savage for sure, but also made for riveting viewing. Was not looking forward to watching Froome stare at his stem for three weeks anyway.

Just to add that Astana were magnificent yesterday. Garmin also but not to the same extent.

No, not Froome. But so, so many spills...
BTW, ever see SO many folks standing around with wheels in your life? Especially after the cobble sections...

I like that the climbers had a taste of other racing. It kinda evens the field a bit. The stage was fantastic.

No, I like that too. But it seems like it was just a bit dangerous. They took out a few sections due to the rain also.
So far it has not been the usual boring 1st week to be sure.

There were way too many crashes when riders were not on the cobbles, there bike handling skills weren't up to the rainy conditions. Not sure the carnage should be blamed solely on the cobble sections. Great to watch.

The skills are there, they just pushed it way to hard because it is the TdF. To much testosterone.
