My neighbors don't talk to me like that riding. They think I'm crazy going out in the snow and ice now and the 100 degree summer days. I'm one of those people they tell their children to ignore

Is there a problem with that?

Just rode my bike in to work at 0F. Quite pleasant actually.

Dan, did you lose any power in the past week?

Rough up in northern Maine

No power loss here

I think the power losses were nearly all north of here, pretty bad in some places indeed.

Give it back

I just don't understand why you east coasters get all this snow and those of us in the upper Midwest who actually want it are running short. Not fair!

Snow? I saw some on Hood the other day. Well I see it on Hood almost every day seeing as the thing is in view a lot. But I mean I grabbed some and gave it to the hound... He did not approve...

No way dude

I love snow. I'd much rather snowshoe, skate and XC ski in winter than ride (albeit I'd like to get in a ride on my new Sachs). Just got in from shoveling, roof raking and snowshoeing paths for the dogs at -4F - loved it.

The dogs keep me honest - this am at -6F they insisted on going for their walk - the long version. I don't think the 5 year old male even feels cold, but pretty impressive for the 12 year old girl.

Haha! Same here.

There's something rather wrong when I see spandex-clad cyclist on road with snow on it! Or for that matter, skier on a single strip of man-made snow surrounded by grass!

God created season so we can take a break from our routine...

Enjoy the walks. My lab is almost 15 and he doesn't get around very well. But when he wants to go for a walk, I'm with him for as long as he likes. I'm sad because there won't be too many left.

Best to you and your dog

It's hard when a dog gets old. 15 years is certainly a full life. They often show their spirit right to the end. Tails up.

Them Changes

Yesterday was -12F on the morning dog walk. Snowshoed at noon in the teens. Now it is 6F, will get up to about freezing today. Tomorrow it rains most of the day with a high of 46F, then drops to an overnight low of 12F, with a high on Tuesday of 14F. Maybe I'll just skate into work (on the roads). Seriously wacky weather.

After nearly a month of sub and near freezing conditions and almost daily snow, today's (Sunday) high is supposed to be in the mid-40's and I should be able to get out for a decent ride. After that is goes down fast. Tomorrow night's prediction is -8° and Tuesday's high is supposed to be 6°. I'm sooo ready for spring and winter just got here.

It's upper 50's and pouring rain here (Connecticut) at 10:00 Monday morning. The forecast low tonight is 14, with a high tomorrow under 20. There's still quite a bit of snow around from Friday's storm, so there may be some ice here and there tomorrow morning. Not quite as bad as Dave's forecast.
