facking ebay banned me for life!
to sell, at least.
no details as to why, despite having 100% positives and 5-star ratings across the board!

Appeal?
They have no process to submit an appeal or at least find out the reason?

facebook?
If you are on facebook, and it's cycling stuff you are looking to unload, there are a few groups out there that specialize in selling bike stuff for example:
https://www.facebook.com/groups/onlineswap/
The other one I know of is trying to keep membership to the southeast, but check around as there may be something similar in your area.

decision is final
over 10 years and thousands of transactions and a 100% positive rating with 5 stars across the board.
i called ebay and this is the issue: i recently sold a vintage wrist-watch manufactured by breitling for wakmann on ebay. i included that wakmann/breitling information in the auction title and ebay deemed the inclusion of "breitling" as malfeasance on my part since the dial didnt actually say "breitling" on it (even though anyone interested in a 60-year old mechanical chronograph would know it to be true). ebay pulled the listing, so i adjusted the title and ended up selling the watch to a very satisfied ebay buyer and got a glowing review on the transaction.
and, yes, the decision is final. but they're more than happy for me to keep buying stuff on ebay.

Join up using a different user name?
If the decision is final, I would cancel the account right away. At least they KNOW they'll lose you as a buyer.

I received an email recently from ebay indicating that they were going to disable my account due to a lack of activity. I cannot remember the last time I signed in with that account; it was fine by me.
Perhaps it is a programming error on their part when auditing and cleaning up accounts.

You must be a VERY infrequent user then.
I only bought something once every few YEARS! And I hadn't received anything about my lack of activity!
What I received a lot of, are e-mail telling me my account will be cancelled unless I sign in with my password at some eBay lookalike website! ;-)

More likely phishing/scam, no? Look at the header or actual link url....

Amazing. I'll bet you had a nice picture or two, unambiguous.
Part of the irony is they probably used that one thing to justify their action.
You might think they would lock your account as an interim step while they waited for an informed opinion.
But you did what every other good scam artist does (just kidding) - you opened up another account and picked right up where you left off. I guess that's another part of the irony.
On a cycling content tangent:
This video from Omega has "track racers" 28 seconds in.

Hah! Indeed. Aint that the truth.
This time the email I received was definitely legit and you are correct my inactivity has been for quite some time...more than 5 years ago, no exaggeration.
