The single-engine Cessna 152 came to rest in the center median at mile 13 near Exit 10. Hejeji was bound for the Portland International Jetport
----
Because a Cessna 152 belongs landing along with 'heavies' that stall at higher speed that the the 152's max cruise. Maybe better he did not get there. ;)
This is an expensive thing to have happen, wings gotta come off to trailer/transport back to the FBO.
33' wing span BTW.
Highway are nice runways with no wires or light poles usually, except for those pesky moving things...
Still sound like a favorable outcome thankfully. ;)
I suspect it will be more than a few hour traffic delay probably.
And secondary routes to take?

Unbelievable. It reminds me of a jumbo jet landing on the California freeway (405) a few years ago , as detailed here:

I believe a lot of major airports have a shorter runway dedicated to general aviation and small commercial aircraft to avoid this problem.

This is at least the second and maybe 3rd or 4th time since I moved to Maine a few years ago that someone has landed a plane on the highway.
Heck almost as common as snowmobilers disappearing by falling through the ice :)

Ok, not a pilot...
...but I once walked into the wrong house of my friend. Roaming through the different rooms without finding anyone, before I finally realized it wasn't the right house after all! (all the rooms are located in similar configuration too!)
