OT: Android and Google synching

Are any of you guys Android users who have successfully set up synching between your phone and google contacts? I just replaced my Iphone with a Galaxy S4 and thought it would just "happen". But it doesn't seem to be working. Quick perusal of the web seems like this might be a common problem.

Any thoughts?

And if you don't desire to watch a video, this explains it:

Both my Android phones did the sync as soon as I entered my gmail details into the phone. No fiddling was needed. One phone is an HTC Desire X and the other a Nexus 4.

OK, that was easy enough. Switching from the i-world to Android is going to take some getting used to.

No droid for me.

On a note, Yet another android user has had his phone become useless at the 2 year mark. I first saw this with my Android phone and it seems to be a trend.

So far, mine, my wifes, my sister-in-law, my son's, two coworker's, all have gone TI at the 2 year mark.

My iphone is 3 years old now and still works great. I may upgrade, I may not. Just so I can use Bluetooth HRM functions on Strava which I can't do with my iphone 4, because of the slower processor.

I did have my iPad 1 become a hog at the same age but that was due to updates on apps more than the device itself.
