Happy Holidays all

My gifts to others include a handlebar bell for my nephew and a Park pizza cutter for my brother. Oh, and the Kickr trainer for myself. Not sure if I'll ride today, but probably tomorrow.

Merry merry to everyone.

My present to myself was to cut yesterday's ride a little short so I could do today's recovery ride and pass 10k miles for the year. Off to see the grandkids who, sadly, are still too young for serious cycling but I'm working on them....

Socks

My youngest child gave me a nice set of cycling-themed socks--big enough for size 13 feet.

I gave my youngest grandchild (12) their very first bike--a Fuji S10S Mixte built up as a single-speed. The weather is nice, so tomorrow may be riding lessons

'socks--big enough for size 13 feet'

Nice, I totally get that conundrum. I give away more new socks and gloves than anyone else I bet.

@Andy

Hope you had fun with the grandkid. I was in Hamden visiting my brother and rode up East Rock Tuesday in the fog with my nephew. It helped that I had 13 speeds and he had 1.....

I wish we had a Sapori....

Climbing

Dan:

My spouse and I spent 1/2 through 1/15 in Granada, Spain. Let me just say that in that region, bikes with motors are extremely popular. I saw a few non-motorized bikes around the center of Granada, but if you're going to ride up to the Alhambra or Sacre Monte (sp?), most people seem to prefer electricity...
