Rules is rules...

Intentional? Team jersey doesn't need defending.

It wasn't intentional, as Alaphilippe was obviously ready to climb onto the podium. I wonder what is more stupid, the rule itself or the fact that Alaphilippe's DS broke it and cost him the jersey. Yates' reaction on the podium kind of said it all.

Rules

Speaking of rules, we do have a "no spoilers" rule, so if you're going to do a spoiler, you warn about it in the thread title rather than PUTTING it in the thread title. Just saying.

Calling BS on this after seeing the VID.

He took it and tossed it. He may have tasted it, but I did not see him even tilt his head.

Maybe more about the risk at run up speeds?

STUPID RULE UCI, bad UCI!! ;)

Rule is a rule...

My bad

This type of penalty is unprecedented and I looked at the penalty more as a news item than as a race result. Sorry to anyone who was looking forward to watching on their DVR.

I think the rule is more there to prevent team cars from trying to assist their riders with "sticky" bottles in the final part of a stage.
