Weirdness

With people self-isolating, it is really eerie, how little car traffic there is on my rides, with people staying home and self-isolating. I can ride on roads I normally wouldn't consider.

This is a small (and admittedly self-centered) benefit stemming from the coronavirus crisis. But there is a down-side: my favorite coffee shop stops are closed.

+1

I got back from South America yesterday, by the skin of my butt (flight from Lima at 9:55 pm, outgoing flights had been shut down as of 11:59 pm - you can imagine what the airport was like).

Now self-quarantining while figuring out how to get work stuff done. Just took a ride, felt good, several cyclists, runners and walkers out; lots of walking on trails and steps seems to have agreed with my legs.

Be safe, all.

I noticed as I rode on the bike lane/shoulder of busy roads Monday it was like it was 5+ years back was it seemed like.

I had to be someplace fast, so did a few roads I normally stay off...

As note and explained to me by an ER nurse, practice a bit of extra caution when riding to not get hurt. Beside the lack of space at hospitals that will be more concerning in the near future, to put you if it's serious, they're not happy treating folks who got hurt while engaged in a less then important activity, like going for food, or TP or something.

I have been extra careful on my mtb rides. Not only do I not want to hurt, I sure don't want to go near a med facility these days.
