OT: Tax software

My OS is old on my iMac and I'm afraid to update it for fear of losing my customer database, so I cannot do the cheaper download version of Turbotax. I did it online last year and it was more expensive.

I have a small business and need to do a Schedule C along with personal, so I'm considering options this year. Anything besides Tax Slayer or Tax Act I should consider?

Solved. I can use the kids iMac and do the Turbotax download for 1/2 price.

You don't need us I guess. ;)

I did my own for years. In 2010 IRS decided we owed $2900.00 for 2003, And when I cleared that up in one day, the guy said when he gets to 2006 I have a $216k capitol gain he sees I will be hearing about next.

My family member who re-did my mortgage wrote it as a commercial loan to get more backside points it turned out. So the I was supposed to file a certain form as a commercial borrower. Except it was out primary residence.

Any who, we paid a gal to redo 2003-9 and it turned out we over paid from 2006-9, by 11k. Which we got back.

Don't do my own taxes anymore, don't let family member do my loans anymore... ;O
