Hey April............... Whatever happened to the good old days of circumventing the rule of law and consultation from the Legislative Branch altogether via circumventing congress and simply enacting "executive order" with impunity.........? Boy, I sure miss those days.

“Whatever happened...”

Did you read before you post?

Or you read and are agreeing? ;) I can’t tell...

Executive orders

Equinox - don't pine for the good old days, Trump's current rate of EO signings would outstrip every President including Bill Clinton if Trump keeps going for a full 8 years. The good old days are now, if you like EOs!

Seems in truth [remember that?] DT has not popped 80 yet. And it is debatable how many of those are actually EOs and not theatrics. Him coloring outside the lines, as it were.

Number/quantity probably more a factor of when the opposite party is in control of house/senate than anything else??

On a slightly lower level:

A controversial Depression-era law in Alabama allowed sheriffs to keep as personal income any funds left over from covering the costs of prisoners’ meals.

In 2009, Morgan County Sheriff Greg Bartlett was ordered by a federal judge to spend one night in jail after prisoners testified that they were always hungry and losing significant amounts of weight. Meanwhile, Bartlett was pocketing $212,000 annually for skimping on prisoners’ meals. As with the Etowah County sheriff, Bartlett’s yearly income from the food provisions fund exceeded his annual salary, which was approximately $64,000.

Morgan County prisoners’ daily rations, according to the New York Times, consisted of “a few spoonfuls of grits, part of an egg and a piece of toast at breakfast, and bits of undercooked, bloody chicken at supper.”

The enormity of these sheriffs’ enrichment is remarkable, considering that the Alabama state food allowance for prisoners is only $1.75 per person per day.

So they can keep getting bigger better Bass boats, they use $0.35 cents per day outta of the $1.75 to actually feed inmates? What a world.

The other morning I head someone say "Pray for mercy, not for justice. We all have reasons to fear justice."

I would suspect theses kind of abuse had always existed. They're being exposed bit by bit as time marches on.

But they were "made to be legal" back in the depression era, was it not?

At least that's what I thought you wrote. I maybe mistaken...

I guess I should have said the fact that they were not repealed a long time ago surprises me.

How about FBI agent Peter Strzok's testimony before Congress yesterday? --The base will filter out his answers of course. But it was more like an attempt at performance art by the Republicans.

How about Our Fearless Leader's European spectacle? And he is about to have a one-on-one with the most successful KGB agent.

116 days until Tuesday, November 6 - motivate someone who may not vote

Or something else they try on folks, 10 hour hearings. Mental torture planned and executed pretty much. Wonder if they spike the water? ;)

I kind of enjoyed him throwing it back. He was better at it that Hilly with her pre POTUS good behavior and not looking non lady like as part of her MO @ her interrogations.

Because he's not trying to get elected.

He had nothing to lose. Actually he can be as blunt and as Trump like as he sees fit.
