I store my photos on photos.google.com, as Google provide me unlimited storage for images from my Pixel phone. If I want to include one of the images, I click on the share button for the image and select "Get link", then go to
https://ctrlq.org/google/photos/
and paste the goo.gl link into the "Paste photo link here" field. Click on "Generate Code", then paste the image embed code at the bottom of the page into your message, as I've done below for an image. It provides a medium res image which can be clicked on to load the full res image from Google Photos.
I have found that this method will only display the image if you are logged into the forum. If you're not logged in, you just see the html that shows the image.
