Disc brake bike Stage 2 TDF [Spoiler Alert]
I bet you may see discs machines as a bike choice on days that are raining more so, just a hunch.
Apparently this is the first year allowed for the TDF.
Alberto Bettiol of CADO-Drapac had discs on his TT Slice machine in the Prolog.
And the machine that wins Stage two was a disc machine. I won't say whom, unless you recognize the bike below.
Two pieces of history, a TT Disc and stage winner disc bikes.

I have something to contribute to this thread but I think you need to make it a spoiler first.

I posted a pic in a second message, but realized it WAS a spoiler. So I will add spoiler Alert to the subject of the OP.

2 of the announcers were talkong and said that Kittel prefers disc brakes in all conditions. Said he prefers the modulation and feel of disc to rim brakes.

I million billion dollars spent on sponsorship and arguments made for grams and watts saved, and Specialized can't make a dedicated electric shifting bike? Or at the very least, an insert that swaps out where that cable hole is to smooth it out when electric, but offers a stop when cabled?
I guess at $12999 it's a bit of a cheap-ish bike, there's going to be compromises in design and finish...

Apparently some teams...
...still use "Clement Red" cement. I thought it had gone the way of the dinosaurs.

Clement Red
Goes with the Roval wheels - keeping it French. I have a Roval front aero wheel, I think from the '80s sometime....
I believe I still have some Clement Red as well.

I have an old can on a shelf...
...but IIRC it dates back to the '80's, so even if there's anything that hasn't solidified in it, I don't think I'd use it (good call, eh?).
