There is an amazing amount of driver environment interaction that I don't think an automated car will be able to handle.

4 way stops where one driver waves or just nods another driver through, or just eye contact.

How many times have you had to wave someone past while towing a load of yard trash? Come on, we have all done it, blocked the roads.

Some things, I just don't think any automated system is quite ready for working with us. With other automated systems it would be a breeze. Mixing humans and robots just won't work safely, yet.
