OT: Electric guitars Sparky
So I got a simple USB cable for the electric I had here laying in the closet and strung some wire on it.
All it takes is touch the strings with my fret hand and it makes noise through the pickups, how do I turn that sensitivity down but not loose volume?
I am just jacking it directly into my laptop using the USB cable right now. I don't know if I want to spend on an amp yet. It is not optimal but it works for $15.
What does the little switch do besides turn it off? I do know that the tone changes a tiny bit if I move it to the other three positions besides the off.
My acoustic calluses make all kinds of racket on the strings as I fret which is annoying.
BTW, playing a bit of Ed Sheeran and Dave Mathews now, not good but I am doing it. (Acoustic)

Glad to hear you are progressing, and find it satisfying. ;)
What is the Electric, and have you plugged it into a normal 'guitar' amp
at any point ?

It is that cheap, knockoff Strat that I sent you pictures of.
I have not plugged it into anything but my MacBook Air, faking an amp with GarageBand.
I need to get an amp on the cheap, any suggestions? Keeping in mind I would like to plug in my acoustic to the same amp.

Well, those two amps are as different as a MTN VS Road bike.
Give me your local craigslist link, and I will look for you if you like. Did you have a budget in mind?
I'd take said strat to a local Guitar Center and plug it into something. I suspect the guitar may be the issue, cheap being the focus for likely hood.
BTW, Guitar Center has 30 day return policy if you want to bring an amp home.

No Guitar Center locally. I will try it at a local mom and pop store this afternoon. Though I am a bit embarrassed because it has a Confederate Flag painted on it along with signatures from the band Lynard Skynard.
Not something I want to take out in public these days....
It was given to my wife as after her cousin who collected things passed away.
I would have rather had the ZZtop signed one but it is what it is.

All ears here.
My son wants
this $60 Fender model
from GC for his birthday.
Too bad about the paint job, being SC for you and all. We can't ignore history but "pride" can't be used to mask oppression either (re: 1962 flag raising.) I deleted 7 lines, you're welcome.

Like I said it was a gift from a dead cousin. If given permission it would be red with black and white splatter lines on it like Eddie Van Halen's.
