Wide shoes?

I have the road shoes covered. But time to replace the old MTN shoes. They still close and hold on well, but loosing chunks off the bottom and some separation sole to last etc. Time to glue them up. ;)

Like Sidi Mega, what MTN shoes have wide or run wide. My Nike shoes/sneaks I am wearing are EEEE width.

Sidi Dominator Megas are sort of like Sidi Megas :)

I have a couple of pairs of the Sidi Dominator Mega MTB shoes, as well as a pair of the Mega road shoes. The fit of the road and MTB shoes is identical.

What more could you need to know than Sidi Dominator Mega? I have at least 4 pair now in various states of wear.

I have lake boots in wide but they don't fit like the Sidis.

Thanks!

How about the MTB GIAU MEGA a little cheaper version?? Or is that the ladies shoe or something?

I looked at those, too. I actually prefer the velcro straps to the buckle. My understanding is that the Giau is not Lorica, but a different/cheaper material. I've thought about buying a pair. I have 45.5 and 46.5 Doms but I'd like to have a 46. Seems my feet are growing.

I wonder if less durable or anything. What is the main benefit of Lorica? Heat/cooling?

Managed 40 miles yesterday, 1st clipless ride since the ankle sprain 2 week ago today. Sure wonks you out favoring one leg I can tell you...

I have a SIDI non MEGA road in 47. Came with a used bike that never got cleats mounted even. I need thin socks to use them. About the same as the 47 SH212 carbon Shimanos. Kind of my short go fast shoes I like to get off sooner than later. My most comfortable are Lake TT shoes with one Velcro closure and two big loops to get on easy fast. They are not pretty from so much use.

All my other road Shoes are also 47s. I am actually an 11.5 US, but with a crazy high instep and wide foot... Even my heel is huge, like my feet where supposed to be 14s but stopped growing @11.5. Actually the right is closer to an 11 and the left a 12 to make matters worse.

So unless a shoe is wide, the tongue does not close a lot of times. My non wide bike 47s that work the tongue do not overlap much but works with lite socks and thin shoe beds. I have been taking out foot beds in favor of thinner ones all my life for some volume. Don't even ask about ski boots. ;)

I wonder if a 46 Mega might be the ticket. Gotta go try some on.

Although I am more likely to use a neoprene and/or wool sock in the MTN shoe...

You guy up size for winter use/socks?

How is this for an instep/arch?

steppin' in

FWIW I also have high insteps and trouble closing up some shoes, but the Megas (I have both road shoes and Doms) work fine. I believe I take a slightly larger size in them than I usually do in European sizes.
