New bike, but....

Picked up my new Specialized Crave 29'er today, and as I loaded it in the truck I was dodging snow flakes. Will this weather ever improve?

Eventually, enjoy the new ride... It may like cold and wet anyway. ;)

It snowed in Pittsburgh yesterday and the high was 44. We aren't out of the woods quite yet.

I'll take the snow!

My tele boots just arrived. End of season sales, 70% off! :D

Binding will come in a few days. Not quite as spectacular a saving. But if the snow keeps on falling, I'll get them mounted and go test out my beginner tele turns!

Not that I want snow, mind you. Just I'm in a better position to make some use out of it.

Why do I get the impression this spring is one of the warmest?

I did 90 miles last weekend. Will be doing another 80 or so this weekend. And this is only April. I don't recall putting in any serious mileage before May in many years...

Maybe having lucked out in a very nice club (meaning: nice riders to ride with) has something to do with it? The warmth of personality of my riding buddies!

UP here it's been the coldest spring...

...that I can remember. One nice weekend doesn't make a warm spring.

Ditto

Yeah so far I can remember only 2 really nice weekend days and we are at the end of April... cold for sure.

In SW PA, January, February and March were brutally cold with February being the second coldest on record. The first half of April was a bit above average for warmth but the last week or so is working hard to reverse that.
