Note on the multi post situation.

The double and more postings is getting out of hand for some reason. I email ANT, so we will see.

When you get the debug screen, it actually posted and folks seemingly are reloading or refreshing over and over and we are getting crazy multiple posts going down.

So until it get resolved, what I have been doing is opening another tab to see that the message did post, and every time it did. Then I just go close the debug tab once I know it did in the new tab.

Nobody likes having to retype an entire informative message, but the above direction should get you by for now.

Please comment if possible

Just a question: are these re-post/dupes occurring when you post from your phone only, or from PC via ISP connection??

I get them, but I connect via ATT tether to my phone.

FWIW

I've had dps from iPad and PC; seldom use phone to post.

Every time I've seen a "debug" failure message the post has posted.

I think the problem witht he ipad/iphone is that its not clear that it actually submitted after you hit the submit key. The debug happened to me for the first time last nite, and I probably posted several times, on my pc on a normal connection. Sorry.

The cure: forum database needs some TLC?

My guess from the bleacher seats is that the double posting is due to a lack of responsiveness from the server (i.e. cyclingforum.com). You get impatient, or think the site has freezed up, etc. and click the Submit button a second time, and voila...eventually a duplicate post appears. The cure is likely to reboot the web server or even more likely do some maintenance work on the database server such as reindexing, defragging, rebooting, etc.

From ANT:

"I rebuilt and reindexes the entire sql database which should fix the double posting problem."

He must have done some D&C last night.

Thanks Illustrious Sysop! ;)

Haven't used that work in forever. ;)

Debug

I just got a debug from my iPad. IME they are harmless if U ignore them. But unless you've been through it U don't know to ignore them.

Working on it

I'm experimenting with a few fixes, so don't be surprised if it crashes more than once in the next few hours. Thanks. -ant
