"for what he thought was H2O was H2SO4"
I remember that one, HydrChloAcid ??
On Jeopardy last night [we watch to reaffirm nightly how bad our memories are, and how smart we aren't]
there was a pic/answer with 3 rings than Balantine obviously had copied 100 years ago.
I jokingly answered 'What is Balantine", Elaine did not get it. I you tubed for the jingle and played it for her.
An then another ring, and then another.. Then she got it.
Funny how you remember certain things...

Sulfuric
Either one is nasty. I caught a lungful of sulfuric when mixing reagents many, many, many years ago in my dad's lab (I was stupid and mixed things in the wrong order--I think I poured water into acid rather than the other way around, something like that; I was 14 at the time). Fortunately for me, what I inhaled was pretty dilute, but I was short of breath for months.

College Chem lab basics. Dude the fumes combine with moisture in your lungs to burn them but good.
I hated working with acid in the lab, even under the hood. Even worse when you have to heat it. Yuck.
