looking for a GPS running watch rec

nothing too fancy. basically what i want is a reasonable stop-watch w/ lap function. but also with GPS to show current speed/pace data.

nothing expensive or fancy, as far under $100 as possible.

Not much help but I use a Garmin 610 for dual running/bike use. Just over $100 from Craigslist.

I would check the reviews at DCRainmaker and just go with whatever Garmin Forerunner has the features you need.

a cheap watch that takes forever to lock onto satellites and drops signal alot would drive me batty.

thinking the 220 but it blows my budget.

$48?

How does $48 strike you?

I have no idea if these are any good, but you asked for something under $100, these might be hard to beat at these prices.

How about your smartphone and a free app. Most running apps do that stuff and announce it over your music. Plus they keep a record of your performce.

Running watch

Walter -
I run with the 220 and love it, but today I am a full time runner and only bike for the occasional cross training. The Forerunner 10 is much more basic and maybe closer to what you are looking for. I strongly second the advice of looking at DCRainmaker`s site as it can`t be beat for checking out your options.

You might be interested in this http://www.milestonepod.com . The price is right and I like the passive approach of being able to obsess over data after I run, not during. It will serve you as a good backup to a GPS watch for the times it losses a signal during you run.
