1000 acre wild fire plume terrible here.

Anyplace I would normally ride without drive for over an hour is dab in the middle of some nasty air. Second time since we have been here. You don't even want to go outside and take a breath.

First time in 2011 I tried to ride in it foolishly, it was a stupid thing to do. Ignorant to the depth of it in our first summer here. This one is centered 25 miles away, the 2011 one was 80 miles away. Ash and smoke a lot more dense with this one. It has gone beyond 1000 acres in area last night.

So chalk that up as living in the PNW negative.

I believe the white cloud dot in the county to the east is Mt Hood.

Reported as 2000 acres now...

The 'Red' DOT/Station is 2-3 miles from my neighborhood.

Station 10093

Air Quality Index: 169
Concentration: 91.2 µg/m3

The units ppm and µg/m3 stand for parts per million and micrograms per cubic meter, respectively. Both are used in the measurement of air pollutant concentration.

I couldn't ride this morning due to visible thick smoke from the 9k-acre King Fire some 25 miles away. It's our first smoke-out of the year as far as local riding.
