Opinions on the crash today?

Taking a line over the grates was not the best decision, rain or otherwise. At the same time, it was the same rider who fell again at the end of a race this year. Perhaps the rider unwisely laid down power just as he was going over the grates.

Well, you can't exactly...

..."lay down the power" when you're in the middle of a paceline, so no, that's not likely what happened. I haven't seen an overhead shot, but from the front it appeared that he may have hooked the rear wheel of the rider in front of him. Either that, or perhaps he hit the manhole cover with his front wheel slightly crooked. Either way, it's a shame, but I don't think anyone else is to blame.

I saw no manholes, but there seem to be some rectangular, perhaps painted spots? But it really looked like he did a wheel tap to me most likely...

On the flip side, I think it's totally awesome that Tuft had a chance to wear pink.
