I was told...

...that they don't consider taking out hardware for at least 6 months, so definitely give it time to heal completely and see how it feels.

I'm told the same story too. I'll ask the doctor on the rational of it when my appointment comes up. (Not that I'm necessrily in a hurry. I would rather wait till ski season is over anyway -- cycling is easier on the shoulder than skiing)
