MTB riding in the PNW

A friend and I with MTBs bike hit the Sandy River Delta Area on the George yesterday. Known as Thousand Acres, and pretty low use considering the
day and 1/3 full parking lot. Maybe we just got lucky on that.

The first serious use of my old Stumpjumper since TN. ;) Old faithful did it's usual dependable and fast
roll. We switched bike for a few, and his couch FS Giant was quite the supple machine. I knew I better get off of it fast before the Stumpjumper saw the wheels turning [the ones in my head].

I noticed a particular benefit to the lack of deciduous tress in the mix. No leaves to speak of covering the rocks and roots on the trails. I do miss the vibrant fall colors I am used to between TN and NJ.
