my experiance

I've not had the "hot foot" problem but my feet are wide. I've been using Bonts for the last two seasons--you bake them in an oven and then put them on and they mold to your feet. I find they are very comfortable, stiff, and efficient--you might try a pair. BTW they can be re-baked so if you find a pair on e bay yo0u can still cook them and mold them to your feet

Bonts'

Got me curious there, may try some. It does seem 99% of them are white though...

Is there any compromise on re-bakes I wonder? A compared to initial roasting? ;)

Bonts

Thanks, but mine would probably be half-baked.

I'm happy with the Sidi Megas. I have a real old pair of Bont speedskates, basically kangaroo skin sneakers on a long blade. Tortured my feet, through no fault of theirs (I have weak ankles due to many sprains, and I had to pull these way tight to get any support). Switched to Nordic Skates (long blades that fit into a XC ski boot binding), much better for me.
